Artist Pernille Sandberg

These works of tactile aluminium sculptures are carved from original radiological documents, first introduced as a part of Sandberg’s solo exhibition “The Bloom of Arduous Clarity”.

Based on the concept of Jorge Luis Borges’ poem “In Praise of Darkness” they work as a juxtaposition of solidified thoughts and wonders, such as the meaning of the physical human vision, neurological electric impulses, and emotional illusions.

Photographer Pernille Sandberg (b. 1994, Denmark) has been living and working in Berlin, Copenhagen, and Oslo. Her work often carries the ambiance of melancholy and nostalgia, and she is best known for her intimate portraits.
