Ståle Johan Aklestad is a woodturner based in Molde and Hjørundfjord. His search for lines found in nature has led to a series of wood products that lies in the intersection between function and art. Each bowl is uniquely and carefully handmade in his workshop in Hjørundfjord.
Linden is natural pale, and perfectly suited for further bleaching. In this bleached series, the goal is to reduce distractions, forcing focus to be on the form and lines alone. The wood is bleached in several stages, then sealed and lacquered to preserve the bleaching. The bird on the side appeared in the bleaching-process, as other distractions disappeared.
